Former Rep. Tom Andrews, who works as a consultant in Washington, D.C., and headed up a national group of movie stars to oppose the Iraq war last winter, will be the guest speaker Aug. 3 at the 46th Annual Muskie lobsterbake in Falmouth.
The annual lobsterbake is named after the late Ed Muskie of Rumford, who made Maine proud with his national success at environmental law-making.
On Aug. 3 it’ll be Andrews’ charge to offer inspiring remarks about the 2004 election. Those expected to attend are Mrs. Jane Muskie, Gov. John Baldacci, U.S. Rep. Tom Allen, U.S. Rep. Mike Michaud, state legislative leaders and Dorothy Melanson, chair of the Maine Democratic Party.
A $100 donation is the cost to join the Muskie Club. The lobster dinners are $35. There is vegetarian lasagne for those not wanting lobster. For information phone Heather Quinn at 622-6233.
