Park to close
GRAY – The Maine Wildlife Park will close for the season at 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11. Since it is also Veteran’s Day, the park would like to thank all veterans and current Maine military personnel for their service to the country by offering them a free adult admission to the park on that day.
Visit the park Web site at www.mainewildlifepark.com to learn more over the winter and to get the latest information about the spring opening.
The park has more than 25 species of native wildlife on display, plus wildlife gardens, nature trails and other interactive exhibits and displays. It is open daily through Nov. 11 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Admission is free for ages 3 and under; $3.25, ages 4 to 12; $5, adults; and $4, seniors. Groups of 15 or more are $2.50 a person.

Network summit
AUGUSTA – The Maine Tobacco Free Hospital Network will hold its 2006 summit on Thursday, Nov. 16, in conjunction with the American Cancer Society’s 30th anniversary of the Great American Smokeout. The summit will take place at the Maine Hospital Association at 33 Fuller Road from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information, contact Natalie Jackson at 287-6027.
Health seminar
PORTLAND – A day-long policy seminar featuring three northern New England states’ approaches to improving healthcare access is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 1, at the University of New England’s Westbrook College campus.
The seminar for state legislators, health policy officials and representatives from private sector health organizations and consumer healthcare reform organizations will focus on health insurance reform efforts in Maine, Massachusetts and Vermont.
