MEXICO — An arrest warrant was issued early Wednesday afternoon for a former Peru and Mexico resident whom police say fled on foot from a routine traffic stop on Mitchell Street off Main Street.

Local and state police searched a few houses and the area unsuccessfully for Joshua Hussey, 31, after a Mexico officer pulled him over at about 1 p.m. for driving despite having a suspended license, Mexico police Chief Jim Theriault said.
When police either find Hussey or he turns himself in, Theriault said he will be charged with operating after suspension and resisting arrest.

To help, call Mexico police at 364-5686.
