PARIS – A 36-year-old man will serve no additional jail time after pleading guilty to several property crimes Friday.
Norman “Bo” Thompson appeared in the Oxford County Superior Court and was ordered to serve 19 months of a 15-year sentence on charges of vehicle thefts and burglary in Oxford and Androscoggin counties. He was also given a five-year probationary period and ordered to pay $1,200 to the victim of a burglary in Mexico.
Thompson had already served 19 months in jail and will not be required to serve additional time unless he violates his probation.
Thompson was charged with several thefts during the summer of 2007 and received national attention after being tackled by Sun Journal photographer Russ Dillingham while attempting to flee from police in Lewiston. He later led police on a 14-hour standoff at his mother’s home in Mexico after he was charged with stealing electronics from a neighboring residence.
