AUBURN – A Memorial Mass was celebrated Monday morning for Thomas French at Sacred Heart Church following prayers at The Fortin Group Funeral Home. Fr. Frank Murray celebrated the Mass and recited committal prayers at St. Peter’s Cemetery. At the conclusion of the Mass, eulogies and words of remembrance were given by his brother Dennis French and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Michael and Melissa Rancourt, and a special poem was read at the cemetery by his wife, Michele.

Traffic escorts for the funeral procession from the funeral home to the church and from church to the cemetery were provided by the Auburn Police Dept., Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Dept. and the Lewiston Police Dept. A memorial tribute at the Auburn Public Works Department was provided, which included entire staff and equipment lining Gracelawn Road with a large American flag overhead as the procession passed by. Urn bearers were Michael Rancourt, Tom Masters, Scott French and Dennis French.
