AUBURN — Doreen Locke of Liberty Rebekah Lodge 94, district deputy president of District 3 of the Rebekah Assembly of Maine, will preside over the annual meeting of the district, to be held Saturday, June 19, at the Odd Fellows and Rebekahs Home of Maine, 85 Caron Lane. She will be assisted by Catherine Hunnewell, deputy marshal. The meeting is scheduled for 1 p.m., preceded by a luncheon at 11:30 a.m.
Participating in the meeting will be members of Colfax Rebekah Lodge of Mechanic Falls, Nina Rebekah Lodge of Lisbon and Liberty Rebekah Lodge of Auburn. Carol Pravone, vice president of the Rebekah Assembly of Maine, will be the visiting officer. Rebekahs from the various lodges in the state are invited to attend.
Those holding office for the opening and closing ceremonies are: Diane Treacy, Liberty Rebekah Lodge, noble grand; Nancy Waisanen, Colfax Rebekah Lodge, vice grand; Cynthia Larrabee, Colfax, secretary; Lucille Nelson, Liberty, financial secretary; Sally Wentworth, Nina Rebekah Lodge, treasurer; Ricky Waisanen, Colfax, warden; Jean Pepin, Colfax, conductor; Esther Tucker, Liberty, right supporter of the noble grand; Mercena Abrams, Liberty, left supporter of the noble grand; Martha Shorette, Nina, right supporter of the vice grand; Esther Smith, associate member of Liberty, left supporter of the vice grand; Eleanor Helwig, Liberty, outside guardian; Lucy Cowles, Liberty, inside guardian; Gail Morgan, Nina, color bearer; and Joan Pike, Colfax, chaplain.
The welcome address will be given by Lucille Nelson, past president of the Rebekah Assembly of Maine and member of Liberty. The response to the welcome will be given by Ricky Waisanen, junior past district deputy president of District 3 and member of Colfax. Distinguished and honored guests will be introduced.
During the meeting, a President’s Tableau will be presented under the direction of Cathy Hunnewell of Liberty, when presentations will be made by the noble grands of the lodges in the district for the president’s project and the Home Fund. Past District Deputy Presidents will be recognized.
A memorial service remembering members in the district who passed away since the last district meeting will be led by Hunnewell. Carol Pravole, visiting officer, will bring greetings from the Rebekah Assembly and talk about the various programs being conducted by the Order. Other honored guests will have an opportunity to speak.
Lunch committee and greeter will be Diane Treacy, past noble grand, and the exchange table will be supervised by Mercena Abrams, past district deputy president and past assembly marshal, both of Liberty.
