DAV services

AUBURN — A fully-equipped DAV National Service Office on wheels will be at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1603, 588 Minot Ave. from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, July 12. 

A DAV National Service Officer, schooled in the full range of benefits for military veterans and retirees, will provide counseling about benefits and assistance with claims. Services are free and DAV membership is not required.

Veterans should bring their claim number, Social Security number and any other pertinent documentation. For more information about free DAV services, call Gidget Rizzo, DAV supervisor, at 623-5725.

Society meeting

BOWDOIN — The Bowdoin Historical Society will meet at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 11, at the FHC building. A white elephant sale will be held to add to funds for the society’s necessary expenditures. Those present will be asked to share memories of past Fourth of July activities.

Society members are requested to bring an item for the refreshment table as well as items for the sale and money to buy.

Alumni reunion

MONMOUTH — Monmouth Academy will hold the 111th annual Alumni Reunion on Saturday, Aug. 7, at the Monmouth Academy gym. Alumni and guests can come at 10 a.m. for coffee and socializing with classmates. Lunch will be at noon and entertainment will follow.

The class of 1960 will be the honored guests at the event. Everyone who attended the academy is welcome to attend. Call or e-mail Chriss Wight Hayden at 784-2568 or [email protected] for reservations. Reservations are required for lunch.
