E-2 Amanda (Carey) Packard graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas, in June. She is currently stationed at Sheppard Air Force Base in Texas, where she is studying air crew flight equipment.

She is the daughter of Ed and Kathy Carey of Rumford and the wife of Justin Packard. She is a 2006 graduate of Mountain Valley High School.
