FARMINGTON — The owner of a Farmington garden center is opening her greenhouses and lush gardens Wednesday evening for area women to stop by and get pampered.
In addition to massages, facials and pedicures, the event will also provide information about preventative health care and it will help a good cause.
“I have always wanted to offer a ladies night out because I thought it would be fun,” said host Robin Jordan, co-owner of Robin’s Flower Pot. “By giving all the proceeds to the Healthy Community Coalition, it is also a chance to give something back to an organization that does so much for this community.”
Robin’s Flower Pot is at 387 Webster Road, off of Knowlton Corner Road. The event will run from 5 to 9 p.m. and will include refreshments donated by area restaurants.
All of the providers at the event are providing their time and services at no charge. Donations in any amount will be accepted at the door, with all money raised to go to the Healthy Community Coalition.
The coalition is an affiliate of the Franklin Community Health Network and works to improve the health and well-being of the people in the Franklin County area through health -screenings, community activities and education programs, and events.
Wednesday’s activities include massages, manicures/pedicures, acupuncture, electrolysis, a skin analyzer machine as well as skin cancer information, bone density and blood pressure checks at the Healthy Community Coalition’s mobile health unit. There will also be bra fittings, makeup tips, giveaways and appetizers, sweets and refreshments.
Jordan said on Sunday she appreciates the willingness of the area businesses to help out.
In the spring, Robin’s Flower Pot raised $840 for the coalition with a raffle for a mini-landscape makeover provided by Tree Line landscaping and Jordan’s staff, she said.
