Bible school
OXFORD — An “Ultimate Adventure” Vacation Bible School will be held at Oxford Advent Christian Church on Route 26 from Aug. 16 to 20. Children in grades kindergarten to sixth grade are invited to attend the school from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday.
Children will visit one of five sports-themed rooms each day, do activities, play games, make crafts and eat snacks related to the themed room. Adult volunteers will assist with the activities.
Registration will be held from 8:15 to 9 a.m. Monday, Aug. 16. A parent or designated adult must accompany each child at registration. There is no fee. A closing ceremony is scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 20. For information, contact VBS director Joanne Edwards at 539-4089 or the church office at 743-7310.
Board meeting
NORWAY — Community Concepts Inc. will hold its board of directors meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 10, in the Norway Town Office complex, 19 Danforth St. All meetings are open to the public. For more information, call 739-6564.
Breakfast
HARRISON — A breakfast will be held from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 1, at the Harrison VFW. There will be scrambled eggs, French toast, home fries, sausage, bacon, fresh fruit cup, sweet breads, coffee and orange juice. Donations will be accepted.
An art exhibit on will be on display by various artists of Barbara Maxfield’s painting class in Harrison.
Open house
OTISFIELD — The Bell Hill Meetinghouse on Bell Hill Road will be open for public inspection from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4. There will be several open houses during the summer, in partial compliance with the terms of a New Century Community Program grant for historic buildings renovation which the association received in 2008.
Since receiving that grant, the association has undertaken some basic repairs to the historic 1839 meetinghouse. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Blood drive
SOUTH PARIS — There will be a blood drive at the South Paris American Legion from 1 to 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 6. Donors are needed daily for the thousands of patients who need blood. All donors will receive a free gift card. To make an appointment, sign up with Marilyn Ramsay at the Legion. Walk-ins are welcome.
