OXFORD — Members of the Thompson Lake Environmental Association will meet from 9 to 11:15 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, at the Station House Community Center. The association will host the annual meeting and provide coffee and refreshments.

There will be items on sale as well as a raffle of specialty items and a photograph by Kathy Cain, co-president of the association. Keynote speaker will be Michael Chammings, Oxford town manager, assisted by Pete Laverdiere. The topic will be the state of the Robinson Mill Dam, now owned, operated and managed by the Town of Oxford under the direction of Chammings.

Also speaking will be Jeff Sterns, an environmental consultant and grant writer for the Sebago Lakes Environmental Association and Thompson Lake Environmental Association. Stearns will report on the current status of the Federal 319 grant for erosion control in Otisfield.

Dr. Scott Bernardy and Rob McVety, milfoil eradication crew chief, will report on the Thompson Lake Milfoil Eradication Project.

Directors will be nominated and elected for the next two years and committee reports will be given by the chairpersons.

All interested persons in the Thompson Lake watershed and friends are invited to attend.
