The 1846 Minot Center Congregational Church will hold its annual summer services at 9 a.m. Sundays, Aug. 8, 15, 22 and 29. The historic church is in its original condition. The original floors were boards, but in 1908, tapestry-style rugs were installed over 1908 Lewiston Daily Sun newspapers. The peal of the 844-pound bell will ring to announce the opening of services. The bell was rung for the first time on March 6, 1853, and continues each year for the annual August session. The church is located at the corner of Center Minot Hill Road and Jackson Hill Road. The pastor is Francis Lodge. Members need to raise money to paint the church this year and would like to fill the church during August. All denominations are invited to attend to help keep the church open.
