AUBURN – The Corporate and Community Services Department at Central Maine Community College will offer “Change Management,” a workshop on how to manage situations that involve personal or professional change, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 18. The cost is $99 including materials.

In the program, participants will learn how to identify the characteristics of change, learn and apply a strategy to communicate change and create a plan for how to deal with or even prevent resistance to change.

“When you understand your own reactions and how you can take charge, you can be an ambassador for change-management,”said Susan deGrandpre, workshop facilitator. “This workshop will examine how to expand your own and others’ influence on how you manage changes personally and organizationally.”

deGrandpre has a master’s degree in education from the University of Southern Maine and a Bachelor of Arts in sociology from the University of Massachusetts. She has been adjunct faculty at St. Joseph’s College and Southern Maine Community College. Her corporate experience includes L.L. Bean and Unum, where she held leadership positions in customer service.

The deadline to register for the workshop is Aug. 11. For more information or to register, contact the Corporate and Community Services Department at 755-5280 or 800-891-2002, ext. 280, e-mail [email protected] or visit www.cmcc.edu/training.
