RUMFORD — The next community networking meeting, sponsored by the River Valley Healthy Communities Coalition, is scheduled for noon Wednesday, Sept. 15. The speaker and location will be determined soon.

Car show

DIXFIELD — The Dirigo High School Class of 2012 will sponsor a car show on Sunday, Sept. 5, at the Dirigo High School field. The rain date will be Monday, Sept. 6. There will be 10 classes, with trophies awarded to the top three places in each class.

Gates will open at 9 a.m. and voting will end at noon. There will be a 50/50, food and music. The entry fee is $5 per car/driver and $2 for spectators. Proceeds will go to the Class of 2012.

Story time

DIXFIELD — Ludden Memorial Library will begin preschool story time on Monday, Sept. 13. The program will run from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Mondays throughout the school year.

The group will read books, do crafts and have a snack. On days that public school is cancelled, there will be no story time.
