Bridge play

RUMFORD — The Rumford Bridge Club met Sept. 1 at the Senior Center. Results were as follows: first place, Donna and Ozzie Swett; second place, Hal and Ellen Cleaves; third place, Anna Cormier and Jessie Shea.

Society meeting

PERU — Members of the Peru Historical Society will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14, at the Peru Historical Society House.

Rug braiding

MEXICO — Rug braiding classes will be held at the Green Church from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays, beginning Sept. 7. There will be no class on Sept. 14. Beginners are welcome.

There is no cost, but participants are asked to make a donation to the church for the use of the space. Natalie Reed has been teaching rug braiding in the Mexico/Rumford area for more than 40 years and continues, at age 80, to teach the classes, with the help of her daughter, Julieanne. DOI to meet

RUMFORD — St. Timothy Circle 504, Daughters of Isabella, will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14, at the Parish of the Holy Savior Church Hall.
