RUMFORD — Carole Anne Hutchinson-Chapman, 71, of Carthage, a devoted wife, mother, sister and friend, passed away Sept. 8, with her loving family at her side at the Rumford Community Home.

She was born at the family homestead, May 3, 1939, the sixth child of 15 to Frank and Flora Hutchinson. She graduated from Dixfield High School in 1958.

She was a wonderful mother to Rick, Scott, Tina and Michelle, a terrific grandmother to Niya, Kale, Kenton, Haylee, Kayla, Javin, Danielle and Ben, and a great-grandmother to Nahlia, Jaice and Alyson.

She married the love of her life and best friend, Ken Chapman, on Dec. 21, 2008. She was deeply devoted to Ken and treasured her dog, Keneca. She loved going to his gigs to listen and dance to the music. Along with enjoying music and dancing, she took pleasure in playing cards, doing crossword puzzles, reading, working in her flower gardens, going for rides around the pond, but mostly spending time with Ken, her children and family. She loved to laugh, share stories, and was always quick with a comeback.

She is survived by her husband, Ken Chapman of Carthage; sons, Rick Arsenault and his wife, Carlene, of Poland and Scott Arsenault and his wife, Nicole, of Alpine, Calif.; her daughters, Tina Stickney and her husband, Christian, of Portland, and Michelle Small and her husband, Dan, of Turner; brothers, Gary Hutchinson, Frank Hutchinson III and wife, Faye, Lee Hutchinson and wife, Sue, Richard Hutchinson and wife, Jeanine, Jan Hutchinson and wife, Linda, Jon Hutchinson and wife, Cindy, Barry Hutchinson and wife, Paula, all of Carthage and David Hutchinson of Maine; sisters, Daveen Houghton, Frances Houghton and husband, Charles, and Nancy Hutchinson, all of Carthage, Gail Knox of North Carolina, Judy Johnston of Gray and Laurel Hutchinson and husband, Joe, of Maine.

She was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Flora (Swan) Hutchinson.
