AUBURN — Central Maine Community College President Scott Knapp has announced the following faculty appointments:

Jeff Joiner has been named instructor in electromechanical technology. A native of Crown Point, N.Y., Joiner earned an associate’s degree in electrical and electronics engineering technology at Vermont Technical College and a bachelor’s degree in applied technical education at USM. He has 25 years experience in industrial and manufacturing engineering. He has served as an adjunct instructor at Southern Maine and Kennebec Valley Community Colleges.

Linda Morin has joined the faculty as a nursing instructor. A native of Lewiston, Morin completed undergraduate degrees in nursing at the University of Maine at Augusta and the University of Southern Maine. She earned her master’s degree in nursing through the University of Phoenix. She worked for 16 years at Central Maine Medical Center and has experience in pediatrics, medical-surgical nursing, cardio-pulmonary and critical care nursing, and perioperative services. Morin has also served as an intermediate in emergency medicine, providing pre-hospital care. She holds advanced cardiac and pediatric life support certifications and is also EMT-I and PPD certified. She lives in Durham with her husband.

Don Varney has been named as an instructor in building construction technology. A graduate of CMCC, Varney earned a baccalaureate degree in applied technical education at USM. A former instructor at Southern Maine Community College, he also taught as an adjunct at CMCC for three years. He has more than 20 years experience in the construction field and is a member of the Maine Association of Building Efficiency Professionals and is certified as a BPI Building Analyst Professional. He lives in Readfield and has two teenage children.
