PORTLAND — Pop music artist Lady Gaga announced today that she will be appearing at a rally near the University of Southern Maine campus in Portland tomorrow afternoon in order to speak out against the military’s Don’t Ask Don’t Tell policy.

Lady Gaga will be speaking as part of a rally held by the Servicemember’s Legal Defense Network at 4 p.m. in Deering Oaks Park in Portland. According to their website, the organization is holding the rally in order to push for a break of the Senate filibuster of the National Defense Authorization Act, which includes the repeal of the Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell policy which bars openly gay men and women from serving in the military.
