MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) — Vermont is about to hold its first heavy metal festival.

Montpelier Palooza is expected to draw about 500 people Saturday. It’s been organized by local promoter Guy Delyea, who used to run a DJ business in the 1980s and 1990s.

The Times Argus reports it will take place at the Central Vermont Municipal Civic Center, after two other venues didn’t work out.

Gates open to the outdoor concert at 4 p.m. The festival runs from 5 p.m. to 12 p.m. and is billed as “7 hours of nonstop metal.”

The concert will feature at least five bands on two stages, including bands from New Hampshire and Maine. Tickets are $15.
