Flu clinic

LIVERMORE FALLS — Western Maine Family Health Center will hold a flu clinic from 9 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 15, for adults only. There will be a charge of $10 for the vaccine for everyone. Insurances will not be billed.

The clinic will take place at 80 Main St., Central Plaza, Livermore Falls. Call 897-4345 for more information.

Church luncheon

FARMINGTON — Old South First Congregational Church will serve its monthly free community luncheon from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9. The menu will include chicken stew served over homemade biscuits and apple crisp.

For delivery service in the Farmington area, call the church office during the week at 778-0424 or the church kitchen on the morning of the luncheon at 778-4438.

Hospice volunteers

FARMINGTON — Farmington Adult Education will offer free hospice volunteer training during October at Orchard Park Rehabilitation and Living Center.

The volunteers visit area nursing homes and residences to offer companionship and a supportive presence. They also help out in other ways, such as as making blankets and pillows. For more information, contact Kelly Herlihy, volunteer coordinator, at 621-1212 or [email protected].

Genealogical society

FARMINGTON — The Sandy River Valley Chapter, Maine Genealogical Society, will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, at the Farmington Public Library. The program will be an explanation of funeral home records, what records are available and their value to the genealogist.

Anyone with an interest in genealogy is welcome to attend.
