AUBURN — Rinck Advertising recently hired Michael Anderson as digital developer. He plays a key role in Rinck’s efforts in digital marketing and new media technology.

With a strong background in website development, Anderson brings his experience in open-source content management systems, Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP. He most recently served as a website contractor in Portland and was the website developer for USM’s Osher Map Library and Smith Center for Cartographic Education. In addition, he served as database manager, PHP programmer and server administrator for Historic Map Works of Westbrook.

Anderson holds an associate’s degree in applied science in computer technology from Southern Maine Community College, where he served as a chairman for college governance and accreditation meetings, student senate president, student senate public relations chairman, activities committee chairman and vice president of leadership for the Phi Theta Kappa honor society.

A native of Belfast, Anderson currently lives in Portland.
