LEWISTON — The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope and Healing at Central Maine Medical Center will offer a free workshop series for cancer patients, survivors and caregivers titled “Masks that Speak.” The sessions will take place from 1:30 to 3 p.m.Thursdays, Oct. 28 through Nov. 11, at Rumford Hospital.

Explore the process of creating a paper mache mask that is a vehicle of communicating with the inner-self. Throughout the series, participants will be encouraged to reflect on the creative process and how it connects with life experiences. Class size is limited to 10 and early registration is encouraged.

The workshop will be led by retired art teacher Gemma Morrill-Dreher and Emily Ecker, LCSW, Dempsey Center oncology social worker.
