STONEHAM — The Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War 1861-1865, Hannah F. Richardson Tent 19 met Sept. 29 in the Community Room where they welcomed seven new members: Dayle Burnell, Deanna Merchant, Kim Hansen, June Whetzel, April Berry, Brenda Woods and Jane Laselle.

Several members of Judith Grover Tent 17 of Bryant Pond came to help with the initiation: Elsie Bonney, Sally Sawyer, Alice Hoyt, Vickie Myers and Mary Beth Hoover.

It was voted to hold meetings through the winter months at the home of Marilyn Jones in Norway, starting with the Wednesday, Oct. 27 meeting, which will include first nominations for new officers.

The Christmas meeting will be on Wednesday, Dec. 8, when there will be a gift exchange preceded by a chowder supper.

Regrets were read from Department of Maine President Michelle Cary that she was unable to attend.
