LISBON — A 78-year-old Lisbon Falls bicyclist was injured Thursday afternoon when he was struck by a truck on Main Street, police said.

Police officer Ryan McGee said Michael Cielinski was riding his bike south when he was hit by a pickup driven by Gary Partridge, 43, of Litchfield. McGee said Partridge told police he was was blinded by the bright afternoon sun and didn’t see the bicycle.

Cielinski, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown to the pavement. He was taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston. His condition was not available early Friday morning.

Partridge was not injured, McGee said.

Police said neither alcohol nor speed were factors in the 2:42 p.m. crash.

Damage to Partridge’s 2002 GMC truck was estimated at $1,000; the bicycle was demolished.
