PORTLAND — Universal American, which offers Medicare Advantage plans and Medicare prescription drug plans through its family of companies, has promoted Terri Bellmore to vice president and general manager for Maine.
Bellmore, who grew up in Livermore Falls, was previously an executive director at Universal American. In her new role she will be responsible for spearheading the growth and retention of Today’s Options plan members, as well as the growth and development of the company’s physician provider network in Maine.
She has more than 25 years of contracting and network experience in health care and the health insurance industry. Prior to joining Universal American, she was manager of network contracting at Harvard Pilgrim Health Care. She previously held management positions with Blue Cross of Maine, FHP Inc. and Los Angeles County/Family Planning Program.
Bellmore’s community involvement includes current and past board and committee representation with Quality Counts, Family Planning Association of Maine, Maine Health Data Organization, Maine Health Management Coalition and the American Heart Association Go Red For Women Campaign. She is also an active supporter of Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure and Equality Maine. She now resided in Scarborough.
