FARMINGTON — Nancy Thomas, RN, and Eileen Caffrey, RN, both certified diabetes educators, have announced the start of monthly diabetes discussion groups in November and continuing through March. The groups are for anyone who has diabetes or supports an individual who has diabetes.

According to Thomas, “The groups will be a fun way to meet others and to learn and share information for those living with diabetes.”

Meetings will take place from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Franklin Memorial Hospital, with a 30-minute diabetes-related presentation, followed by a 30-minute discussion period. Refreshments will be provided.

The schedule is as follows:

Thursday, Nov. 18: Diabetes: The Power of Thoughts and Beliefs.

Wednesday, Dec. 15: Holiday Foods and your Blood Sugar (bring glucometers).

Wednesday, Jan. 19: The Oprah Show on Diabetes, View Portions and Discussion.

Wednesday, Feb. 16: The Oprah Show on Diabetes, View Portions and Discussion.

Wednesday, March 23: Diabetes Technology: Meters, Glucose Sensors, Insulin Pumps.
