Lewiston Ward Three Alderman Ernest Malenfant publicly criticised Industrial Development Director Samuel Michael last night in connection with Michael’s barring of a newsman from his city building office.
Malenfant said the newspaper reporter (Richard Kisonak) was told by Michael to “get out” of the office because the newsman reported in a news story the alderman’s remarks about the director’s expense account at a previous meeting of the board.
Malenfant said the Sun reporter attends city council meetings to cover all of the developments and not to “hide” certain things. He said, further, that the reporter “has always been fair so far to every one of us.”

Among them were Lewiston Mayor Alfred Plourde, drivers David Ingraham and Ruel Goodblood Jr. and Glenn Deletetsky, president of the Maine Harness Horsemen’s Association.
