AUBURN — Jonathan Cohen, professor of philosophy at the University of Maine at Farmington, will discuss his book “Science, Culture and Free Spirits” at 11 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 21, at Temple Shalom Synagogue-Center, 74 Bradman St.

Cohen’s talk will accompany Temple Shalom’s annual book fair, starting at 10 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 21. Featuring a large variety of books with Jewish content and themes for readers of all ages and interests, books can be purchased on the spot.

New this year will be a small craft fair, featuring handmade items created by synagogue members and select friends. There will be jewelry, handwoven prayer shawls, hand-spun and hand-painted yarn, knitted scarves, story-telling quilts, silkscreened Chanukah items and more.
