LIVERMORE FALLS — Beacon Hospice volunteers-in-training at the Livermore Falls Adult Education recently bagged over 300 popcorn treat bags for donation to area facilities in Farmington, including Sandy River Center and Rehabilitation, Pinewood Terrace, Edgewood Rehabilitation and Orchard Park Rehabilitation and Living Center, to help them open their doors on Halloween to trick-or-treaters.

The volunteers will visit patients in November after completing the seven-week training program led by the volunteer coordinator. The training provided an in-depth look of the Beacon Hospice team which includes clergy, the bereavement field coordinator, RN case managers and licensed clinical social workers, as well as active direct care volunteers from the field.

If anyone would like to donate their leftover Halloween candy, they may do so at any one of the above facilities. All donations received after Halloween are preserved and used for different events throughout the holiday season.

For more information on becoming a Beacon Hospice volunteer, contact the volunteer coordinator at 621-1212 or [email protected].
