JAY — The Daughters of Isabella Circle 677 from St. Rose of Lima Church met on Nov. 10 for a business meeting.
The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Regent Laurie Gagnepain. The recitation of the rosary was led by Chancellor Laurianne Castonguay. The Opening Ode was sang.
A short form conferral was held for new members Mariette Castonguay, Patty Ouellette and Carinne Rhea. There will be a long form conferral at a later date. The Pledge of Allegiance was said.
Recording Secretary Louise Chandler read the minutes from the October business meeting. She read thank you cards received from Lorette Chabot, Billy Deshaies’ family and Barbara Beagan’s family. It was reported that there are 154 members of the Daughters of Isabella in Circle 677.
The November social was held Nov. 12 and was shared with the Knights of Columbus. It included a Mass for the deceased members of both groups.
The group also had a Chinese auction at the social. A membership blitz took place on Nov. 14 at the St. Rose Parish hall. There will not be a business meeting or social in December.
The Christmas party will be held Wednesday, Dec. 1, at LaFleur’s Resturant in Jay. A social hour will take place from 5 to 6 p.m. with the meal at 6. If attending, call Vice Regent Denise Rodzen.
State Regent Beatrice Dostie spoke to the group and the meeting came to a close at 8 p.m.
