Wesley and Anita

Stevens

MONMOUTH — A surprise celebration was held recently for Wesley and Anita Stevens of Monmouth, on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary. The event was held at the Fish and Game center.

The event was planned by their son, John, and grandchildren, who cut white birch and drilled holes for fresh black-eyed Susans. The three-tier cake was made by their daughter-in-law, Tammy, which was decorated with black-eyed Susans.

The buffet was homemade by the three sons, daughters-in-law and grandchildren. Their son, Rick, was in charge of getting the couple there in the pretense of going fishing on his party boat.

The couple was married June 18, 1960. They have three sons, six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Relatives and friends attended from Arizona, Texas, Leeds, Poland, Augusta and Monmouth.
