PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — Maine airports are advising Thanksgiving holiday travelers to arrive two hours before their flights so they can complete check-in and security-screening procedures.

Portland International Jetport also suggests checking the Transportation Security Administration website for regulations on what they can and can’t carry as part of their hand luggage. Jetport Director Paul Bradbury says passengers who miss flights because they didn’t check in on time can’t be guaranteed rescheduled flights to their destinations.

Travelers are facing increased security measures, including body scanners and pat-downs, at larger airports in the country, but not at Maine airports yet.

Meanwhile, bus lines geared up for extra travelers. Concord Coach Lines sent extra coaches to Colby College to pick up students.
