This is the only way we can send a warm “thank you” to the nice young couple at the Auburn Mall who, on Nov. 20, came to the rescue of a discouraged grandfather.

His reliable inner compass had failed him when he took the wrong exit from JCPenney. He was sitting dejectedly, cold and frustrated, on a bench in the mall wanting to find his waiting wife and their car.

Grandpa is still in wonder that someone would see a problem and take the time to do something about it.

Thanks to the thoughtfulness of two strangers, the friendly security people at the mall, and several loud-speaker announcements, Grandma and Grandpa were reunited.

Random acts of kindness make this troubled world a much nicer place, and we are truly grateful.

Lost and found from out of town.
