Grange meeting

LIVERMORE — Members of Androscoggin Pomona Grange will meet on Wednesday, Dec. 1, at New Norland Grange in East Livermore for a 6:30 p.m. supper. The business meeting will begin at 7:30.

A Christmas program will be presented by the lecturer and will include a 50/50 raffle and an attendance drawing. All members and guests are welcome.

Pine Cone Chapter

AUBURN — A special meeting of Pine Cone Chapter 26, Order of the Eastern Star, will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30, at the Masonic Hall, 1021 Turner St.

The officers will be doing degrees. All Eastern Star members are invited to welcome the three new members. Refreshments will be served in the dining hall after the meeting.

AUBURN — The Temple Shalom mega-menorah lighting schedule to celebrate the miracles of Chanukah is announced as follows:

Wednesday, Dec. 1, 5 p.m., first night of Chanukah; Thursday, Dec. 2, 6:45 p.m.; Friday, Dec. 3, 3:30 p.m.; Saturday, Dec. 4, 5 p.m.; Sunday, Dec. 5, 5 p.m., lighting and Chanukah Party, RSVP; Monday, Dec. 6, 6:45 p.m.; Tuesday, Dec. 7, 6:45 p.m.; Wednesday, Dec. 8, 5 p.m., last night of Chanukah.

All evenings are weather permitting. Call the temple office at 786-4201 if the weather is questionable.

Seniors meeting

LEWISTON — The Lewiston Senior Citizens will meet at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 6, at in the Seniors Activity Room at the Multi-Purpose Center. Entertainment will be provided by the Jubilees. Election of officers will be held. Refreshments will be served.

Bottle drive

AUBURN — The SHAREcenter will hold a bottle drive from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4. Wheeler’s Market is hosting the drive. Drop off returnables at Wheelers Market, 107 South Main St., or at the SHAREcenter parking lot on Academy Street.

College planning

Open house

NEW GLOUCESTER — The New Gloucester History Barn and the studios of the New Gloucester Cable TV Channel 3 will be open to the public from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Dec. 4.

The History Barn is directly behind the New Gloucester Town Hall on Route 231 and the cable TV studios are in the New Gloucester Meetinghouse next to the Town Hall and also in the community room of the former fire barn behind the Town Hall.

Holly jolly fair

FREEPORT — The Holly Jolly Fair will open with a cake party from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3, at the First Parish Church UCC, 40 Main St. It will continue from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, with a fish chowder/Italian sandwich luncheon at 11:30 a.m. and crafts, knitted items, silent auction, white elephant, baked goods andcookie walk.

Shaker fair

NEW GLOUCESTER — The Shaker Christmas Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, at the Sabbathday Lake Shaker Village, Route 26. Gifts for all ages will include Shaker home-baked holiday goodies and nine rooms of holiday cheer.

Historical society

BOWDOIN — The Bowdoin Historical Society will meet at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5, at the FHC Building. Members are asked to bring food or money to give to the needy, a gift for the Christmas exchange and an item for the refreshment table. Members will share holiday memories.
