LEWISTON — Local police reported that a spate of motor vehicle burglaries to unlocked cars occurred Sunday and Monday nights.

Police received nine complaints from vehicle owners who discovered their cars  had been entered, rummaged through and had items taken from inside.

Owners reported CDs, GPS units and spare change were taken from their vehicles. The areas where the burglaries occurred were: Walker Avenue; Fairlawn Avenue; Robert Avenue; Kavanagh Street; Pettingill Street; and Demi Circle.
