PORTLAND — The ’60s Invasion Band will blast into the holiday spirit at the St. Lawrence Arts Center at 7:30 p.m., Dec. 11, with a performance featuring many Christmas pop standards.
With a sense of humor and history that captures the era, the band will perform “Rocking Around The Christmas Tree,” “Jingle Bell Rock,” “Winter Wonderland” and other holiday classics. “Elvis” may make an appearance and provide a few songs such as, “Blue Christmas” and “Little Sister,” which the band has converted to “Little Santa.”
They band will also perform songs from tits latest Christmas CD, which includes well-known songs converted into Christmas songs. “Devil with A Blue Dress” becomes “Santa with A Red Suit,” “California Dreamin’” becomes “Christmas In New England” and “Louie Louie” becomes “Santa Santa.”
The ’60s Invasion Band includes Boston-based artists Dave Dunham, Jack Little, Dave Vose and Bob Cleary.
