LEWISTON, — Geiger, the Lewiston-based promotional products distributor, has promoted Mike McKew to the position of assistant corporate credit manager.
As assistant corporate credit manager, McKew will be responsible for minimizing credit risks and bad debts. He will review and assign credit limits for new customer acquisitions, and determine whether additional credit is warranted for existing clients, based on their account and payment history. He will also work to ensure that collection goals are met.
McKew began working for Geiger as an order editor in 1983. He held a series of successive positions at Geiger until 2000, when he was promoted to national sales manager with the company’s PlannerStore division. As national sales manager, McKew trained and supervised sales staff, promoted and marketed the PlannerStore at trade shows, in industry magazines and other media. He also developed and designed the annual PlannerStore catalog, set pricing, developed relationships with key accounts, and made product development decisions.
From 2006 to 2009, McKew served as trade show manager for SAGE/Quick Technologies Inc., a Carrollton, Texas-based promotional products supplier, before returning to Geiger to work as an account rep in the company’s Crestline division.
McKew was born in Albany, N.Y., and grew up in Lewiston, where he still resides with his wife. In his spare time, he serves as co-chairman of annual Jim Giasson Invitational Golf Tournament, and enjoys golfing, jogging, baseball and travel.
