DURHAM — Personnel from Durham Fire and Rescue had to extricate a driver from her car following a single-vehicle crash on Newell Brook Road at 8 p.m. Saturday night.

Sgt. Tim Kachnovich of the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office said that Charissa White, 24, of Durham, was traveling alone. She was driving west on Route 9, also known as Newell Brook Road, when she lost control of her car, which rolled over, and came to a rest partially on its side and roof, trapping her inside.

It took rescue personnel about 15 minutes to extricate the injured woman. She was transported to Central Maine Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, Kachnovich said.

Kachnovich said the crash remains under investigation. Damage to White’s 2001 Honda Civic was estimated at $5,000.
