BIDDEFORD — The Biddeford hockey squad rallied to post a goal late in the first period and managed another in the second as they skated to a 2-2 tie against Lewiston in Class A action on the ice Wednesday.

Colt Steele gave the Blue Devils (1-0-1) a 1-0 advantage at 5:10 when he grabbed a pass from Sam Cloutier and fired it into the net. Ben Wigant also collected a pass from Cloutier just five minutes later to put Lewiston up 2-0.

Biddeford (0-0-1) closed the gap with a goal by Scott Callahan and assists from Brady Fleurent and Bryan Dellaire.

Cam Poussard made 22 saves for Lewiston, while Jon Fields turned back 23 shots between the pipes for Biddeford.

Edward Little 3, Waterville 1

AUBURN — Jared Pelletier found the net at the 8:03 mark of the third period to lift Edward Little to a 3-1 victory over Waterville in Class A hockey action Wednesday.

The Red Eddies (1-1) jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first frame when Dylan Nadeau converted a nice feed from Travis Landry. Cody Russell made it a 2-0 contest in the second period with a timely assist from Landry.

J.T. Whitten tallied for Waterville (0-2) at 14:40 to prevent a shutout. Rich Belanger made 22 saves for EL to notch the win, while Cody Thibodeau turned back a whopping 27 shots in goal for Waterville.

St. Dom’s 7, MHW 1

KENTS HILL — Dakota Keene led a group of six players to register goals as St. Dom’s easily skated away from MHW 7-1 in boys’ hockey action Wednesday.

Alex Parker tallied a goal and added two assists, while single tallies by Kyle Holtet, Cody Rodrigue, Spencer Martin and Dylan Rodrigue completed the scoring.

Dan Condon scored the lone goal for MHW with an assist from Nate Tozier.

Grant Carrier handled netkeeping duties for the Saints (1-0), while Jon Dale stood fast between the posts for MHW.

Leavitt 10, Westbrook 1

AUBURN — Cooper Legee, Eric Lamothe and Tyler Hutchinson netted two goals each Wednesday as Leavitt skated to a 10-1 romp over Westbrook in a hockey matchup.

The Hornets (1-1) jumped out to a 6-0 advantage in the first period and were never challenged. Max Cloutier, Nick Allen, Jacob Gladu and Josh Chouinard also tallied for Leavitt to complete the scoring.

Damien Doucette tallied the lone goal for Westbrook in the second period. Jacob Olsen made seven saves to record the win, while Rick Henwood turned aside 24 shots in net for Westbrook.
