FRYEBURG — A fatal crash Friday night left one man dead, according to WCSH-TV. The accident happened on Route 5 in Fryeburg, heading toward Brownfield.

Police said they were uncertain what caused the accident. The car veered off the right side of the road, flipped over a ditch and hit a telephone pole. It came to rest in trees.

The driver, alone in the vehicle, was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead at 11:37 p.m., according to police. The victim was not identified.
