LEWISTON — The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope and Healing at Central Maine Medical Center is offering a free workshop for families dealing with cancer. Family Game Night, part of the Center’s Healing Tree Children’s Program, is scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 13, at CMMC, 12 High St., conference room I.

When cancer strikes a family, everyone is affected and one of the greatest challenges can be effective collaboration. The workshop invites families to learn and play together.

Guest presenter Jeremy Brown, LMSW-CC, will discuss how non-electronic, cooperative games can offer communication and problem-solving skills and engage in activities that can be shared by family members of all ages with various levels of physical mobility.
