BREWER (AP) — Maine State Police say a 64-year-old man has died and three others have been injured in a house fire in Brewer.
Fire investigators say the fire started in the man’s bedroom early Saturday and his body was found on the floor. They are trying to determine the cause of the fire, reported at 5:30 a.m.
Four other occupants were able to escape from the ranch-style house. Three were taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center, and one, 51-year-old Soadia Gusha, was admitted for smoke inhalation.
The man, whose name was not released, was renting a room from Gusha, the homeowner.
Fire officials said in Northport, a candle in a bedroom started a fire that destroyed a house on Friday. A 71-year-old woman suffered serious burns and smoke inhalation.
