AUBURN — St. Dom’s jumped out to a 12-6 advantage in the first quarter and proceeded to pull away for a 39-28 win over Madison in a vacation week MVC boys’ basketball matchup Wednesday.

Tom Applegate led the Saints (3-2) with 10 points, while Joe Bryant chipped in with eight.

St. Dom’s led by three at the break and used a 15-5 fourth quarter run to clinch the victory.

Livermore Falls 44, Monmouth 32

MONMOUTH — Despite falling flat on offense during the first and third quarters, Livermore Falls revved up late in the game to sneak past Monmouth 44-32 in MVC boys’ basketball action Wednesday.

The Andies (3-3) were led by Mike Armstrong with a game-high 14 points, while Hunter Brett chipped in with 12.

Robby Neal led the Mustangs (4-2) with a solid 13-point effort, while Tim Whitmore tallied seven and Drew McFarren added five.

Camden Hills 92, Oak Hill 41

WALES —-Tyler McFarland scored his 1000th career point Wednesday night pouring in a game high 27 points to lead Camden Hills to a 92-41 victory over Oak Hill in a KVAC class B boys basketball clash.

The Windjammers (6-0) outscored the Raiders 27-10 in the second quarter for a 46-16 halftime lead.

Andrew Flanagan registered 13 points including a trio of 3-pointers in the victory. Caleb McFarland chipped in with 12 points.

Oak Hill (1-5) was led by senior guard Cam Morin with 20 points, including five 3-pointers. Morin also hauled down 12 rebounds and had four assists in the loss.

Boothbay 69, Telstar 56

BOOTHBAY — Trailing by five after the first frame, Boothbay went on a 22-14 tear in the second quarter and pulled steadily away to post a 69-56 victory over Telstar in MVC boys’ basketball action Wednesday.

The Seahawks (3-2) were led by Dan Dickinson with a collegiate-like 25 points, including four shots from beyond the arc. Dave DiMauro chipped in with nine points, while Ed Carroll added eight.

Dan Vaughn paced the Rebels (5-1) with a solid 19-point effort, while Ben Field chipped in with 12.

Leavitt 74, Rockland 37

TURNER — Four different players scored in double digits as Leavitt downed Rockland 74-37 in KVAC class B boys basketball action.

The Hornets (6-0) outscored the Tigers 44-19 in the second half to pull away for the victory. Senior Tyler Allen led all scorers with 15 points while grabbing 10 rebounds. Kyle Smith sank four 3-point baskets and finished with 14 points. Junior forward Greg Lake also chipped in with 14 points for Leavitt. Jordan Hersom hauled down a game high 13 rebounds while adding 11 points while Lucas Witham dished out 10 assists in the victory.

Rockland (1-5) was led by Bronson Philbrick and Raheem James who each registered eight points in the loss.

Dirigo 47, Winthrop 14

DIXFIELD — Dirigo scored 17 points in each of the first two quarters building a 34-9 halftime lead cruising to a 47-14 win over Winthrop in boys’ MVC basketball action.

Dirigo’s tantalizing defense (12 steals) wore Winthrop down and held the Ramblers to just five second half points. Junior guard Ben Holmes paced the Cougars (6-0) with 14 points. He also added six rebounds and a pair of steals in the victory.

Josh Turbide chipped in with eight points including a pair from behind the arc. Cody St. Germain added nine boards and seven points for Dirigo. Ryan Conant led Winthrop (3-2) with five points.

Boys’ hockey

Poland/Gray NG 7, MWH 3

GRAY — Sam Mayer netted a pair of goals Wednesday to lead Poland/Gray-New Gloucester to a 7-3 victory over Maranacook/Winthrop/Hall-Dale in boys’ hockey action Wednesday.

MWH jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period, then fell flat on offense until the final frame. Evan Baggs, Ryan Devala, Nevin Rand, Cody Girouard and Caleb Bridgham also tallied for the Patriotic Knights (4-0) to complete the scoring. Matt Ouellette made 36 saves to record the win.

MWH (3-3) received goals from Connor Lacasse, Robie Clark and Matt Plourde. John Vale turned aside 11 shots.
