AUBURN — Sonia J. Buck has been elected a partner at the firm of Linnell, Choate & Webber LLP in Auburn.

Buck joined the firm as an associate in August 2005 after graduating magna cum laude from the University of Maine School of Law.

Her practice areas include employment law and civil litigation, with a focus on commercial litigation, including mortgage foreclosures, mechanics lien actions, and construction disputes.  She also handles unfair trade practice cases and other consumer matters. She is a trained mediator and is currently handling court mediations for Maine’s foreclosure diversion program.

Her memberships include the Maine Bar Association, the Androscoggin County Bar Association, the Maine Employment Lawyers Association, and the Maine Trial Lawyers Association. She sits on the University of Southern Maine Alumni Association board of directors. She is an adjunct faculty member at Kaplan University, where she has taught business and paralegal courses and serves on the advisory committee.

Buck has written several articles for American Bar Association publications and recently published a book for law students and legal professionals.

She lives in Auburn.
