LEWISTON — Registration is open for Lewiston Adult Education winter/spring courses available for community members interested in completing their diploma or GED, transitioning to college, improving their computer skills, learning a new trade, preparing for a career in health care or cultivating a new hobby or interest.
New and returning enrichment courses will be available in arts, crafts, cooking, home, auto, garden, health and fitness. Some new courses will include beekeeping, journaling, systems sciences, WordPress, family caregiving and dog training.
Workforce training courses will also be offered toward certifications, including the clerical office, medical office, accounting assistant and welding certificates, as well as a certified nursing assistant training course.
Many computer classes will be available, for the beginner up through those interested in learning feature programs such as Excel, QuickBooks or Photoshop.
Lewiston Adult Education will also holding two panels for current and aspiring business-owners in honor of Entrepreneur Week: “For the Entrepreneur in You,” which will feature successful local business-owners, and “Starting Your Own Business,” in which representatives from area business support organizations will provide information on resources available to local entrepreneurs.
The College Transition Program will be offered for those interested in beginning work on a college degree in the next year. These programs are free.
