Rumford Hospital Pharmacy was recently awarded the 2010 Best Practice Award at the American Society of Health Care Pharmacists annual meeting in California. Comprehensive Pharmacy Services, a nationally known company that manages Central Maine Health Care’s pharmacies, made the award. The award is presented for best practice certification on an annual audit conducted by CPS. The emphasis of this audit is on regulatory compliance, financial, operational and quality indicators. Pharmacies must achieve an audit score of 95 percent or better in order to qualify for the Best Practice Award.
