Ham supper

NORWAY — The Norway Fireman’s Relief Association will hold a baked ham supper from 5 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, at the Norway Fire Station. The menu will consist of baked ham, salads, vegetables, rolls, beverages and dessert. The cost is $7 for adults, $3 for children ages 6 to 11, and free for children under 6.

King service

NORWAY — The First Universalist churches of Norway and West Paris will observe the Martin Luther King holiday on Sunday, Jan. 16, with a service focused on the King’s role in freeing white Americans from the bonds of slavery. The title for Beal’s sermon will be “MLK’s Continuing Relevance in Maine.”

The service in West Paris will be at 9 a.m. at 128 Main St. The service in Norway will begin at 11 a.m. at 479 Main St. Child care is available and people of all religious traditions, or none, are welcome and invited to attend.

Volunteer dinner

RUMFORD — The Oxford County Democrats will hold a volunteer recognition dinner on Thursday, Jan. 20, at the Eagles Hall, Oxford Avenue. Snow date is Thursday, Jan. 27.

The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. and will feature a chicken dinner. Volunteers in the 2010 campaign will be the guests of the Oxford County Democrats, and others who would like to attend will be charged $7 a  person. Following the dinner and remarks by Democratic office-holders, election will be held for Oxford County Democratic Committee officers for 2011-2012. Officers to be elected include chair, vice chair, secretary and treasurer. Volunteers will be sought for the Program and Finance Committees.

Potluck supper

WATERFORD — The Wilkins Community House, Waterford Flat, will hold a community potluck supper at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 20. All are welcome.

The hosts will be Ginny and Denny Raymond and Meg Wheeler. Those attending are invited to bring a friend and a dish to share.

Suppers start

WEST PARIS — Community potluck suppers are starting again at the First Universalist Church, Main Street, at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 21. There is no charge, but bring a dish to share. Those attending do not have to be a member of the church.
