Fried clam supper

OXFORD — The annual fried clam supper, put on by the Rock-O-Dundee Snowmobile Club, will be held from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, at the club house, Paine Road, East Oxford. The Lost Gull Restaurant in Welchville will donate its time.

The menu will be french fries, clams, haddock, shrimp, chicken fingers, coleslaw, rolls, dessert and beverage. A combo of two will be available. There will be take-out service but no phone calls. Everything will be on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The groomed ITS89 snowmobile trail goes right by the club door. For more information, call Ann at 539-2322 or Suzanne at 539-2616.

February picnic

SUMNER — The Congregational Church of East Sumner will hold its annual Picnic in February at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5. There will be raffles for adults and prizes for children. Donations for the meal will benefit the work of the church.

Pastor Skip MacMullen will offer a special tribute to Boy Scouts on Sunday, Feb. 6, in honor of Boy Scout Sunday. Eagle Scout George Affleck will share his experiences. All Scouts are invited to the 9 a.m. service. Children, who wish, will go to Sunday school following the tribute. Coffee hour will follow the worship service at 10.

Clothing center

HARTFORD — The Hartford Community Church Clothing Center will be open from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Saturdays, Feb. 5 and 19. The center is located on Church Street, opposite the Hartford Community Church.

Socrates Cafe

WATERFORD — Socrates Cafe will meet from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 7, at the Waterford Library. The group offers a forum to discuss current topics and ideas in a friendly atmosphere, where divergent views will be welcome.
