PARIS — The Paris Public Library will host a discussion about e-readers and the Maine Download Library on Tuesday, Feb. 1.

The program, beginning at 6:30 p.m., will cover connecting to the Maine Download Library, creating accounts, downloading the necessary software, navigating around the site and checking out e-books.

Librarian Jennifer Lewis will also highlight some other sources of free e-books. The library staff has fielded many questions about e-readers since Christmas.

The program will focus primarily on the Barnes and Noble Nook, as the library owns one and has the most experience with this device, but much of the information can be applied to other e-book readers. The exception will be Kindles, which will not be covered as they are not compatible with the Maine Download Library.

For more information about the program, contact the Paris Public Library by calling 743-6994 or e-mailing [email protected].
