New officers
LEWISTON — The L & A Veterans Council has announced new officers as follows: chairman, Raymond Boulet; treasurer, Wini Pelletier; secretary, Sally Wortherspoon; adviser, Bert Dutil.
Anyone who has an old application to have a name added to the stones in Veterans Park should disregard it as the council has new ones. To receive a new application, write to the L & A Veterans Council, PO Box 2316, Lewiston, Me 04241.

Dad/daughter dance
MONMOUTH — The sixth annual Monmouth Father/Daughter Dance for Monmouth girls in grades prekindergarten through grade six will be held from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Saturday, March 5, at Monmouth Middle School Gym
Cost is $15 a couple and $5 per additional daughter. Tickets are available at Cottrell and middle school offices and at the door. Proceeds will benefit Team Monmouth.
Seniors trips
LEWISTON — Lewiston Seniors will be going to Merrill Auditorium to see Riverdance at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 12. On Friday, April 8, they will go to the Cumberland Civic Center for “Stars on Ice” at 7 p.m.
A trip to Hollywood Slots in Bangor will be held Wednesday, April 27. On Wednesday, May 25, they will go to Haverhill, Mass., for a dinner/show with the Shaw Brothers.

Seek nominees
AUBURN — Organizers of the Maine McDonald’s® High School Senior All-Star Basketball Games are seeking nominations for the 2011 Maine McDonald’s® Spirit of the Game Award.
Two high school seniors, one from the East division, one from the West, will be honored during Maine McDonald’s High School Senior All-Star Weekend at Husson University in Bangor on March 11 and 12. The nomination deadline is Wednesday, Feb. 16.
